St. Helen’s Catholic School is accredited by the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA). WCEA accredits Catholic elementary and secondary schools in nine western states (26 (arch) dioceses) and the US Territory of Guam. WCEA co-accredits and is in partnership with three Regional agencies (WASC, NAAS, NCA CASI) and two private agencies (CAIS and HAIS). WCEA began in 1957 in San Francisco and has a long and successful history of assisting school improvement through the accreditation process.
Friday the school celebrated with several students from the 3rd grade through the 8th grade their First Communion. All of the communicant’s families and the St. Helen’s students were present to witness this very important event in our Catholic faith. This week was teacher appreciation week. We are blessed to have such a dedicated faculty. The children receive an excellent academic and religious education from a faith filled teacher. Our Catholic faith is woven into our curriculum every day reinforcing the teachings of the church and the children are given the opportunity to learn how to make moral choices based on our Christian faith. The school year is almost over. I can not believe that it has gone so quickly. We will be busy all month with celebrations and end of the year activities.
St. Helen’s School offers an outstanding curriculum to children, starting at 4 years, in our Junior Kindergarten program, through 8th grade within a Christ centered environment. We are currently accepting applications for the 2012-2013 school year. I, along with the faculty and staff of St. Helen’s Catholic School would like to thank Fr. Gene and the entire St. Helen’s parish community for your prayers and constant support. We as a community, are working together to provide an excellent academic foundation along with a moral and spiritual life for the children that have been entrusted to us.
